Satorisan was born in 2010 from Alejandro Monzó Tadeo’s desire to do things differently. His vision was simple: to create shoes with character, made with care, and with comfort, quality and singularity at their core.
Sixteen years on, that same vision still shapes everything we do. We take our time, choose with intention and believe in making less, but making it better — products that feel good from the first wear and develop even more character over time.
We still do things our own way, with curiosity, respect for what surrounds us and the same sense of purpose that started it all.
In the 1781 Great Yokai Encyclopedia (妖怪 の 本), Satori is described as a supernatural ape - like creature that is capable of reading people’s heart . The traditional legends tell that Satori confronts the travelers in Gifu’s mountains revealing them their true inner - self spirit.
Nowadays, in Japanese language, Satori ( 悟り) means enlightenment for Zen Buddhism and revelation moments of our everyday life. San ( さん) is a polite term when referring someone, and our particular way of showing respect for the values that Satorisan represent.
All this represents our moment of birth as a brand in 2010. When all the experience gained over more than 20 years comes with an authentic moment of revelation and arises the desire to create a long - term project to offer something distinctive and special to the end consumer.
From the beginning, one idea has guided us: balance starts from within.
